Bracelets are a type of jewelry that is not only a fashion statement but also linked with different customs. They are worn by both women and men in the expression of their personal styles and preferences. A bracelet is normally a hoop, chain or an ornament that is worn on the arm or wrist as an accessory but most people are not aware nor have they considered the possible symbolic meaning that the bracelets that they are wearing.

Just like any other piece of jewelry, bracelets have various symbolism and meanings depending on the kind of bracelet being given or being used by a particular person. Various cultural societies use the bracelet to signify meanings or symbols related to their particular society and history and they may play a huge role in their lives.

The symbolism and meaning of silver bracelets for women or men can differ greatly as with the following examples:

Beaded Bracelets

This type of bracelet is used by people who believe that they will acquire good luck when they wear them. Beaded bracelets are available in different colors and some may simply wear a bracelet based on his or her color preferences. The meaning or symbolism of a beaded bracelet usually depends on the color of choice, for instance, if you choose a bracelet that is purple in color, then it would symbolize the enhancement of your creativity and the clearance of the wearer’s mind as it is calming during stressful times.

Friendship Bracelets

Usually, a gift purposely symbolizes the relationship between the giver and the recipient. Friendship bracelets are especially meaningful as they secure and symbolize the relationship between two people. They provide certain significance after they are gifted and are meant to increase the bond between you and the person you have gifted. They also present the idea of value and the importance and being a special friend to someone. A friendship bracelet also constitutes the infinite cycle of the relationship that you have with your friend when you put it on your arm or wrist.

Charm Bracelets

Charm bracelets are commonly worn by women and usually coordinate with any outfit that one may wear. Charm bracelets have a certain charm to them with symbols that include different shapes, activities, family status or even animals. The specific charms that decorate the bracelet carry special meaning for the person wearing the bracelet as it symbolizes their personal characteristics that can be loyal, faithful and grounded.

Gemstone Bracelets

Gemstones are commonly used in all types of jewelry items due to their aesthetics and brilliance. A gemstone bracelet purposely signifies an individual character and personality while other gemstone bracelets may represent a birth month. This example of symbolism is largely based upon ancient beliefs yet carried over into today’s society.

String Bracelets

Such bracelets are usually made up of one or two strings that are worn by someone as they make their wishes. When wearing a string bracelet, one has to make a wish as he or she wraps and knots it on their wrist. It is believed that the wish you make is granted by the time when the strings become worn and the bracelet begins to fall apart. At times charms may be hung on the bracelet to enhance beauty of the jewelry.

Scripture Bracelets

A Scripture Bracelet is a fully customized or personalized bracelet that includes a biblical verse. This type of jewelry would be customized specifically to the owner’s sizing and finish just as the certain scripture fits the individual’s preference.

Silver bracelets are a type of jewelry that is very precious and it symbolizes many different things. It is primarily recognized for its beauty, malleability, affordability and its antibacterial properties. Silver bracelets for women have been widely used over the ages for decorative and functional objects to symbolize wealth, unity and thanks. Since ancient times of the third millennium BC, silver gifts mark occasions such as major achievements, milestones, and ceremonies. In Christianity, gifts of silver symbolize God’s promise of redemption to His people. Overall, the type of bracelet worn can be much more than just a fashion statement.
