Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be perfect ~  as long as loved ones are together and the turkey is tasty, the festivities around it can be as imperfect as ever!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time cook, Thanksgiving is bound to be fabulous as long as you have those you care about with you and a great meal to enjoy. This year (and every year) my family and I get together not only for our wonderful meal but also for the planning, preparing and devouring this our turkey and all of the side dishes on this festive occasion. After all, planning and preparing our food is half of the fun!

There is definintely one must-have for Thanksgiving and that is the TURKEY! We always choose a Butterball Turkey because we know that our bird will be tender, juicy and the best quality available. You can’t go wrong with Butterball! Other than our turkey, out Thanksgiving menu usually consists of dressing (or if you prefer, stuffing!), mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, rolls, cranberry sauce and of course pies!

No matter what is on your menu, the day will be awesome because you know that Butterball is always available to assist when needed. You can email, call, chat online or even text your questions to the fully trained staff at Butterball and they will do whatever they can to ensure that your turkey is perfection. That’s just one more reason to choose Butterball. So, don’t stress…simply relax and enjoy the time spent with family and friends and of course enjoy your Butterball turkey!

To help make Thanksgiving a bit more enjoyable, we are so excited to give two AWESOME readers a Butterball Turkey! Simply enter on the giveaway below…Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Giveaway open to U.S. residents, 18 years and older. Giveaway ends 11/16 at 11:59 PM CST

I think I will try making some of my Grandma’s & my Mom’s recipes this year. It’s a way of feeling they are still here with us.

This will be the first Thanksgiving without my Mom, who died in July, so my plans will be different this year. I will probably spend some time with my brother’s family.

Not sure yet if we are having Thanksgiving dinner at my house, my brother’s house or my sister’s house. Either the day before Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day, or both (before guests arrive), I’m going to volunteer at a soup kitchen.

It’ll just be the three of us, at home. My plans? Make WAY too much food, (starring, of course, a Butterball turkey) recognizing that we LIKE thanksgiving leftovers. (Good thing too.)
