Health is something that’s becoming a bit of a hot topic, either for all of the right reasons, or all of the wrong reasons. It would seem that people are either so focused on their health and wellbeing that it controls their life, or they’re never giving a thought to it until eventually, it does come around to bite them. So which of these categories do you fall under? We wouldn’t be surprised if it was the latter, because so many people struggle to find the time to dedicate themselves to their health. Whether it be the time to get up and make some healthy meals for the day or the time to do a light bit of exercise each week. But it’s not just the food we’re putting into our mouth’s, and the exercise we think we should be doing. Health runs so much more deeply than that, and the things you have to think about in order to keep your body ticking over nicely is so high. But do you even think about them? No, you probably don’t. Unless you’re a real hypochondriac, chances are you won’t really question what might be going on in your body, or what could be going on in the future. So this article is going to try and help you understand some of the facts you might be ignoring, and how you can prevent illnesses coming your way in the future.
We’re Vitamin Deficient!
This is one of the topics that need to be a lot hotter than it is. There are so many aspects of our health that people like to talk about, but the fact that most of us are running with vitamin deficiencies is not something you hear spoken about often. So there are many factors that are contributing to this at the minute. For all of you living in European countries such as Ireland, Germany, England, and France, you’ll all have a deficiency of vitamin D. This is one that’s naturally absorbed by sunlight, and if you live in a country that only really gets sunlight during half of the year, then it’s natural that you would have a deficiency in it. The guidelines state that we should all be taking vitamin D supplements, especially those of you who are pregnant. So you might wonder what can happen if you don’t have enough sunlight. Well, for one, it contributes massively to your mood. Low vitamin D levels can lead to you feeling really down in the dumps, and it can also cause you to feel rather lethargic. So even if you don’t feel any of this, we would highly recommend starting your day with a vitamin D and C supplement. Although C is not one of the common ones for deficiencies, it does play a major role in our bodily functions. Vitamin C is excellent for building up the immune system and the bodies natural defenses, so keeping it topped up so it functions perfectly is a must.
Our Minds Are Aging Rapidly
If you ask people what one of their worries is, we can guarantee that almost everyone will say getting old is their biggest fear. It’s the thought of not being able to live the life you’re living now, and perhaps even relying on people to do a hell of a lot for you. One day your life will slow down, and you will start to look a little older and grey. But what people don’t realize, is that it’s not the looks and the independence you need to be worrying about, because the first is something everyone has to go through, and the latter is something that won’t happen until you truly give up. What you should realize, is that your mind is aging far quicker than your body, you just can’t see it. The one fact that more people need to be aware of, is that mental health problems such as Alzheimer’s are on the rise, and we’re not doing enough to prevent it. Alzheimer’s Support is now so vast because it would seem that people are falling victim to this illness far earlier than they once used to be. Some people are as young as 30 when this sets in, and it’s a degenerative disorder that will eventually take over the whole mind. So for now, do a bit of research into the disorder, and find out what might make you more susceptible to it, and how it actually works. You should then start thinking about doing some brain training because this can make a massive difference.
There Are Dangers To Diets
One of the worst habits that you can have, is throwing yourself all into a diet, only to stop again a few weeks later. Because the diets you’re throwing yourself into are most likely not going to be the natural way of dieting, and they can be so harmful to your body. Detox diets in particular, which use harmful teas and tablets, are definitely something you want to stay away from. Anything that substitutes a meal for a tablet or a drink, needs to be stopped. You’re changing the whole way that your body works, for only a short period of time, to then shock it again when you go back to normal eating. Some of these detoxes contain harmful chemicals, and they’re just something you want to stay away from in general. What you do need to think about doing, is maintaining a normal healthy diet for the majority of your life. Once you get into a certain way of eating, and you truly begin to feel the benefits of it, it becomes so much easier to stick to. It doesn’t have to be expensive to make, and it doesn’t have to take long to make. It just needs to be wholesome foods, with a healthy mix of fats, protein, and carbs.
So we hope that you’re now going to start being a little more health-conscious, even if it is in one of the areas we’ve spoken about!
