Have you been to the Woodlands? #WestinInTheWoodlands #TheWoodlands

There are so many wonderful places to visit in Texas and the area in and around Houston is filled to the rim with things to do, places to see and beautiful scenery.

I recently spent another amazing weekend in The Woodlands at The Westin Hotel and as I fully expected, my visit was a great success! The Westin Hotel is immaculately decorated with the most stunning and unique works of art. I spent a couple of hours just walking around the property looking at the artwork. One thing that always catches my eye is the collection of large crystals across from the elevators on the first floor. I love crystals so this spectacular array of beautiful gems is a definite favorite spot for me.

As with my first visit to the Westin In The Woodlands Hotel, my room was not lacking in any way. I had a great view from my room, whether day or night. The bed was so comfortable that I could have stayed in all day...lounging around the room and enjoying the accommodations. Fortunately, there so many activities around this luxurious hotel, that a person could spend days here and have plenty of fun and excitement, not to mention excellent food and drinks!

During my stay at the Westin, I had the opportunity to take in the sites of the Waterway, which is so serene and relaxing. Taking a stroll along the waterway, whether during the day or at night was something I could get used to doing on a daily basis. As for food and drinks, the Yucatan Taco Stand and Tequila Bar is across the street from the Westin, which makes it super convenient and has a great selection of drinks and food, in a very casual and comfortable setting. The staff is helpful and friendly and the prices are affordable so you can't lose at this place! Definitely try the Mixed Berry Margarita!

I also had the chance to experience lunch at Tommy Bahama's, which is located just a few blocks from The Westin Hotel. I had never been to Tommy Bahama's therefore, didn't realize that not only does it include a super nice restaurant, but also a retail store. Our lunch was definitely worth the short walk and worth going back! To start with I ordered the Mango BBQ Chicken Lollipops for an appetizer along with the delicious Duo of Dips (Craft Beer Cheese, Spiked Guacamole and House Made Chips! Yum!) My entree was the more than delicious, absolutely divine Lump Blue Crab and Avocado Salad! Oh my...this salad was unlike any other I've every had before. The combination of the shredded Romaine lettuce, vine-ripe tomatoes, feta cheese, red onions, lime-caper vinaigrette and the avocado made this culinary creation one that I would recommend to anyone. No dessert for me, although the dessert tray was very tempting, but I was completely full and not able to devour another bite!

Needless to say, a visit to The Woodlands is the ideal weekend getaway anytime of the year...and The Westin at the Woodlands is centrally located so that one may enjoy the sites, sounds and activities or even stay in and enjoy a luxurious hotel. See you at The Woodlands, as I'm sure I'll be back!

*Thank you to The Westin at the Woodlands, Yucatan Taco Stand and Tequila Bar and Tommy Bahamas for the complimentary visit and refreshments.
