Traveling to different destinations, even if only for a short road trip, has become one of my favorite things do and one city that I really enjoy visiting is Houston. This booming metropolis is just a short drive from my home and is overflowing with events and activities for people of all ages. With the Houston Zoo, the aquarium, and so many other attractions available, Houston is an ideal spot for a fun road trip. Plus there's nothing quite like an amazing staycation to relax and get back on track!
On one of my more recent trips, I stayed at the Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor Hotel. This hotel has actually been a "Wyndham Hotel" for about four years, with a $12 million dollar renovation under it's belt, including the renovation of all guest rooms, all public spaces, the Park Grille Restaurant, pool and jacuzzi areas, a complete elevator modernization, new HVAC and domestic water line risers throughout the hotel and almost a million dollars in the Physical Plant which modernized much of the operations equipment. Needless to say, this hotel has done a thorough upgrade and it definitely shows!
The Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor Hotel not only caters to the neighboring business district but also the tourists, the local traveler looking for a staycation destination (me!) and also many amateur sporting events from the Houston area.
There are several area attractions and shopping venues such as Top Golf, Athena Gun Club, Typhoon Texas Water Park, the Katy Mills Mall, City Centre Lifestyle District and Memorial City Mall, in addition to the countless other attractions in Houston. For the convenience of the guests, the Wyndham offers a complimentary shuttle to all businesses, shopping and dining within a 5-mile radius which is awesome!
The staff at this hotel is fantastic with each one going above and beyond my expectations at every interaction. Check-in was super fast and easy and my room was wonderful. I even received a yummy gift from the hotel manager!
The entire hotel is very tastefully decorated in all areas including the lobby, the Park Grille Restaurant, The Ten Bar and Lounge, the indoor pool area and of course the rooms. Speaking of my room, it was so spacious and relaxing complete with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. The bed was super comfortable too! As for the view...if you've ever stayed in any Houston hotel, then you know that most likely your view will be filled with skyscrapers and highways. At the Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor, that's definitely not the case. My view was not one of a big metropolis at all and although I could see the highway, what caught my eye was the landscape of trees and homes.
This trip and my stay here was the perfect weekend escape and one that I would love to do again. The hotel is close enough to so many things to do, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it can be completely relaxing and peaceful.

*I received a complimentary stay at the Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor hotel, however, all opinions are entirely my own.
