Fun & Games in Houston ~ Go Sugar Land Skeeters! #GoSkeeters

I may very well be the last person on Earth who has never attended a professional baseball game ~ until now! It's not that I've never wanted to participate in cheering on a professional team, but have never had the opportunity and quite honestly didn't realize how much fun it would be.

I recently had the chance to attend a Sugar Land Skeeters baseball game and for those not familiar with the Skeeters, they are a professional baseball team located in the outskirts of Houston and have been playing home games at Constellation Field since 2012. Although not affiliated with Major League Baseball, this team is part of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

First of all, upon entering Constellation Field, I was in complete awe...it's not only exciting, there is so much going on and so much to do that watching the baseball game is only a part of the thrill. When we entered the field we were given a free player bobble head! This is just one of many promotions that happen at Constellation Field. Going to a Skeeters game is definitely a family event and they have really incorporated so much for the kids into this field. There is an awesome area that is ideal for kids of all ages and I love that it is also a supervised area and that the Skeeters kept safety and fun in mind when planning this stadium.

We had great seats but chose to also walk around and explore a bit. For those who would prefer to sit in their own lawn chair or on a blanket, there is The GrassLand. This laid back area provides easy access to the Kids Inflatable Fun Zone, the Memorial Hermann Plan Land (think gravity ropes, slides, etc...), a fun Splash Pad and the Bud Light Ice House in addition to an up close view of the Skeeters bullpen action. The attraction to this area for me is that it's perfect when attending the game with a couple of kids. My children tend to be a bit restless and although they enjoy the game, sitting in one spot for too long isn't likely. The Grassland gives them plenty of room to play, roll down the hill and be a kid!

You can't go to a game without sampling some of the tasty food and drinks available, and in addition to the numerous options available throughout the stadium, The Wells Fargo Picnic Plaza is a great choice for a family or company outing. Guests will enjoy a two-hour, all you can eat buffet with a wide variety of food and drinks available.

Constellation Field and the Sugar Land Skeeters are all about fun, excitement and baseball and the official mascot, Swatson, is so cute! In between innings, there are lots of fun activities going on and most include Swatson and the Swat Team.

Last but certainly not least, if you are attending a Skeeter's game don't forget to wear your official Skeeter's apparel. The Manager, Abbey, and her awesome and knowledgeable staff are super friendly and helpful. No matter if you're interested in a cool t-shirt, a new baseball cap or a team jersey, they can certainly take car of you and with a smile which makes it even better!

Overall, Constellation Field is an excellent choice for a day of baseball, a fun family outing or enjoying time with friends. There is so much to do and see, so one trip simple won't do!
