Bottom's up for National Tequila Day!

This summer is loaded with numerous fun and interesting holidays but National Tequila Day is by far one of those designated days with the most potential for having a great time. Before diving right into the fun and a few delicious tequila recipes, let's explore some interesting facts about this beverage that has enough clout to reserve an entire day for celebrating.

1. Americans consume over 50 million liters of tequila on a yearly basis.

2. There are actually a few benefits to drinking tequila. Who knew! First, start with quality tequila, meaning one that states "100% Agave" right on the label. According to Mexican law, tequila must be made from only the Blue Weber Agave plant from the Tequila region in the state of Jalisco. Be sure to check out the bottle from now on.

3. As for health benefits, experts agree that a shot of tequila before lunch can stimulate your appetite and one immediately after dinner can aid in proper digestion. Some also say that tequila can aid in lowering cholesterol and alleviating tension headaches, all in moderation, of course!
