A few weeks ago my children and I had an event to attend in Houston, so we decided to take advantage of the time together away from home and stay overnight at a hotel. I was provided a complimentary stay at the Hotel Sorella City Centre and was so excited because I had never been to the City Centre. This place is truly amazing! Not only is the Hotel Sorella a gorgeous, upscale boutique hotel, but the entire place is filled with luxury.
The City Centre is located a few miles from downtown but visitors have no problem enjoying themselves with plenty of shopping, entertainment and dining options available. Dining options range from sushi to Mexican Cuisine to burgers and everything in between so there is something for everyone. The hotel also offers a great room service menu, which is what my kids and I decided to do. The boys were so impressed with the hotel and our room so they asked if we could order room service as a special treat. They loved it and certainly enjoyed drinking their juice and soda from a wine glass.
From beginning to end, our stay at the Hotel Sorella was perfect. Parking was provided in a convenient parking garage connected to the hotel by a cool skywalk. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and treated us like VIPs for the entire stay. As a matter of fact, upon entering our room we were greeted with a fabulous display of treats and wine, along with a note from theVIP Coordinator . It was awesome!
The accommodations were nothing short of upscale luxury ~ super comfy beds and bedding, robes, exclusive apothecary bath amenities and a view to die for. My kids couldn't get over the spectacular view that is truly captivating whether or not it's daytime of night when all of the city lights are visible. We could look down on the courtyard are which was quite a busy place. There were tons of people walking around, relaxing and kids playing. On Sunday morning there was even a free yoga class and I fully intend to participate on my next trip. The hotel also serves an amazing complimentary breakfast including cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a few other breakfast items and beverages.
This is by far one of the most desirable places to stay in Houston and although one may think that this kind of luxury is out of their league, that's not the case. Most of the hotels in Houston are booked during the week by business people but during the weekend, the rates will most likely be lower, which works out perfectly for a family or couple on a weekend getaway! Overall, the Hotel Sorella City Centre is an excellent choice when staying in Houston and we hope to go back again.
