Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with Sauza and Skinnygirl Cocktails!


Throughout Memorial Day Weekend, we will honor those who have served our country and celebrate the unofficial start to summer. There are countless ways to show our appreciation and to celebrate these brave men and women, but one sure way to ensure that the weekend is unforgettable is to mix up a few refreshing cocktails form Sauza Tequila and Skinnygirl Cocktails. So whether you're planning to hit the beach, throw a back yard barbecue or take an exciting road trip, enjoy the three-day weekend with these recipes below.

Memorial Day Facts and Trivia
Memorial Day was first celebrated in 1968 and was observed by placing flowers on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers. For the first observance, over 20,000 graves were decorated with the help of about 5,000 participants. May 30th was chosen because the flowers would be in bloom all over the country at this time, making decorating much easier. It wasn't until 1971 that Memorial Day was recognized and declared a federal holiday.




Sauza Tequila Sunrise

  • 2 parts Sauza Signature Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
  • 1 part lime juice
  • 1 part orange juice
  • 3 parts cranberry juice
  • 1 grapefruit wedge
Preparation: Fill shaker with all ingredients and shake. Strain into glass over ice and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.


Red, Red Rita
  • 1 part Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila
  • 1 part blood orange juice
  • 1/2 part lime juice
  • 1/2 part simple syrup
  • 1 blood orange wheel
Preparation: Add ingredients to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain over ice into a margarita glass and garnish with a blood orange wheel.


Watermelon Refresher
  • 1 1/2 parts Skinnygirl Cucumber Vodka
  • 1 1/2 parts lemonade
  • 1 1/2 parts watermelon juice
  • Thyme or watermelon for garnish
Preparation: Shake all ingredients vigorously with ice and pour mixture into a tall glass and add garnish.


Skinnygirl White Wine Slush
  • 1 part Skinnygirl Pino Grigio
  • 1 part Cruzan Light Rum
  • 2 parts frozen lemonade
  • 1 part seltzer
  • Peach for garnish
Preparation: Blend all ingredients except seltzer with ice and pour into a flute glass with seltzer. Garnish with a peach.
