St. Patrick’s Day Cocktails for Every Style Celebration!

There are plenty of ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Whether you plan to brunch with friends (green eggs, anyone?), host a casual get together or attend an elaborate evening event or party, Sauza 901 Tequila wants to make sure you are prepared with unique and festive cocktails ~ no luck required!

What originally began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become a popular celebration of the Irish culture that includes dancing, drinking, parades, food and anything GREEN! We also dug up a few St. Patrick's Day facts that are ideal for getting anyone into the spirit of this holiday.

1. Every year, the city of Chicago gets festive with the long time tradition of dumping green dye into the Chicago River. It actually takes forty tons of dye to get this river to a festive shade of green and has been going on since 1962.

2. Where is the shortest St. Patrick's Day parade? From 1999 - 2007, the Irish village of Dripsey boasted the Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the World, running only 26 yards between two pubs. The city of Hot Springs, Arkansas has now claimed that title with a St. Patrick's Day that runs for ninety-eight feet.

3. Leprechauns are only male. That's right! Even though we may see advertisements or other commercial shows with female Leprechauns, traditional Irish folk tales only call for males.

4. While we're on the subject of Leprechauns, most people don't know that the reason they are so fanatic about keeping their gold is because they've had to work hard to earn it. According to Irish legend, these little guys spend their days making and mending shoes so when it comes to their gold, it's hands-off!

Now that we all know a bit more about St. Patrick's Day, let's get started with a few "GREEN" cocktail recipes that are sure to be a hit for any  type of celebration! Enjoy!
