Our stay at The Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio #travel

My family and I had the honor of staying at The Emily Morgan Hotel ~ a DoubleTree by Hilton a couple of weeks ago while on mini-vacation in San Antonio, Texas. Although I had read many articles online and done a bit of research on the history of this amazing hotel, I was not prepared for the luxurious experience that awaited us.

Upon driving up to the hotel we were greeted by the valet and then escorted inside to the reception area by the Bell Captain. Check-in was unlike any I had ever experienced at other hotels as the staff was not only extremely helpful, courteous and friendly but also had extensive knowledge about the history of The Emily Morgan Hotel. I actually appreciated the brief enlightenment and learned quite a bit from the Bell Captain and the Manager as well.

Have you ever received a yummy snack upon checking into a hotel? Well when you stay at this hotel each guest receives a warm chocolate chip cookie. Awesome! Needless to say, my kids were thrilled and ate their cookies on the spot!

The guests rooms were amazing and decorated with charm, elegance and impressive comfort and conveniences within the room. The Sweet Dreams Beds  were made up with the softest sheets and were so comfortable that I would have loved to remain in bed all day instead of seeing the San Antonio sites, but my kids would never have allowed it! I did have a chance to get a bit of work done while there thanks to the complimentary Wi-Fi and the Executive Work Desk. The desk was spacious and the chair was so comfortable...perfect!

The view...Wow! The view from our room was spectacular! We had a clear view of the Alamo and could see so many other amazing sites in San Antonio during the day and at night it was simply gorgeous! My photos won't even do the view at night justice, one would have to see it first hand to fully experience the beauty.

The Emily Morgan Hotel is in the middle of everything and within walking distance of so many San Antonio attractions, it's basically the hub of Downtown San Antonio! With the Riverwalk only three blocks away, my family and I found numerous options for dinner and although it was not an easy choice we did finally settle on one on the Riverwalk so that we could not only enjoy our meal but also the atmosphere of the river. However, dinner and all other meals are available at the on-site ORO Restaurant and Bar. We actually had a wonderful breakfast the next morning and enjoyed a wide variety of options from toast and croissants to specialty dishes. It's was delicious!! Hopefully I'm able to visit again because I'd love to have more time to enjoy the other lavish amenities like the heated outdoor pool, the In-Room Spa Services and of course the Fitness Center and Library. This historic hotel basically has everything one would need whether traveling for business or leisure and also offers a complimentary shuttle service to area destinations, and of course The Emily Morgan Hotel is the "Official Hotel of the Alamo!"

Over all, our stay at The Emily Morgan Hotel was awesome. The kids and I enjoyed it very much and if I had to list anything at all that was disappointing, there would only be one and it would be that they were hoping for a bit of "haunting!" This hotel is also known for being haunted with countless occurrences and stories all over the Internet. We did not experience anything but who knows...maybe next time!
