If you've never read a book written by Diane Wing, then you are certainly missing out on something not only captivating but stories that connect the modern world with the suspenseful sand spine-tingling supernatural situations. This is not the first of Diane's books that I've read, so when she offered a copy to me for review, I was completely intrigued.
Trips To The Edge consists of four short stories, each with their own mysteries and plots that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and not wanting to put the book down. I seriously could have read this book from start to finish in just one sitting if not for the fact that I have two young boys who always seem to need Mom when she's in the middle of a great book! The life of a Mother!
A glimpse at each story:
- Another Walk in the Park: The first of four short stories in this book had me captivated from the first paragraph, while the outcome was completely unexpected. As the character takes a familiar path in the park, they are drawn by an unseen force to go further and with each step the story becomes more and more hypnotizing.
- Dark Hollow Road: As a young woman searches for her missing brother she encounters much more than she ever dreamed. What almost seems like a dream becomes reality and more than she could ever imagine.
- The Restaurant: This story had me mesmerized! A couple travels to a new restaurant for what seems to be an outstanding meal but are confronted with the most peculiar menu and staff. What comes next for this couple is not only mythical but almost seams unreal. Awesome story!
- Wrong Direction: In this story, what seems like another tale of unfaithfulness and a cheating husband takes a dramatic twist with spells, mythical creatures and a need for the ultimate revenge.
I can't say enough about Trips to the Edge, except that it's well worth reading and is one that will leave you wanting more from Diane Wing!
