HCG diet plan and HCG drops was developed by the British doctor A.T. Simons, author of the book ‘Pounds & Inches’. In his book, the doctor details the theory behind this very common program.
What makes this program stand out from the other weight loss programs; it is the fact that it makes use of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. This is a particular type of hormone, usually found in women who are pregnant.
In pregnant women, the role of the hormone is to maintain the in the fat burning act, where fat is broken down and used to feed the baby.
What Is The HCG diet plan Like?
There are three main phases in the plan:
1. The Loading Phase - This is a preparatory phase and it commences in a usual way. More particularly, one is free to eat whatever he or she wants. This will only last for two days. The following phase will be much stricter and the initial stage is designed only to prepare one’s body for it.
2. The Maintenance Phase – This is the phase in which one will start to see the results, provided that you follow the rules and regulations.
3. The Stabilization Phase - Like in any other programs, this is a transition phase, in which one progressively switches from a low calorie level to a much higher one. It is designed to allow a come-back to a regular diet, without the fears of dangers involved in putting-on weight.
Foods to Eat While On This HCG diet plan
The fact that you can choose the foods you are to eat makes this diet really interesting, especially for those that must continue to be around a variety of foods and meals.
Due to the low calorie limit, you will not be able to eat a lot especially in the second phase, but being able to enjoy simple foods is necessary.
• Vegetables: chicory, cucumbers, asparagus, spinach and lettuce
• Meat / fish: shrimp, chicken breast, shrimp and veal.
• Seasonings:, pepper, garlic, salt vinegar, parsley, basil.

In earlier phases, most people used injections and this is still a preferred method that can be used even today. Injections can be done in the privacy of your home with proper instruction.
Otherwise, a lot of people prefer going to a clinic in order to have this done. If you add the cost of the mixing kits, syringes, solutions and the clinic fees, the costs can vary quite a bit.
