Kaurina’s Kulfi ~ Traditional Indian Style Ice Cream Leader Lands in Texas Stores!!

My family loves to try new things, especially when it involves food. We were recently asked to try Kulfi Frozen Dessert bars from Kaurina's for review purposes.

Kulfi is the original ice cream of India and believed to have it's origins in Persia. Kulfi was introduced to the subcontinent by Moghul Royalty in the 1500's. Unlike most ice cream, Kulfi is not whipped and is made with only pure cooked milk, sugar and natural flavors for a decadent intense flavor.

We were able to try a box of Kulfi with three flavors...Mango, Malai and Pistachio Almond. At first the kids were a little apprehensive, since they are used to bright and colorful Popsicles, but after trying them, they were a hit! The kids especially like the Mango flavor and my husband was partial to the Pistachio Almond.

This dessert bar is such a nice change from the usual frozen products that we buy, since the Kulfi bars are full of natural flavors and lack the artificial flavors in most frozen bars. The flavors took a little getting used to for the kids, but once they gave them a chance, the frozen bars didn't last too long in our freezer!

Kaurina's Kulfi bars are currently available in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio throughout HEB stores and local ethnic Indian/Asian grocers, as well as in Northern California Costco's and gourmet markets in Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York. Kaurina's is also available in ethnic/Asian grocers in Oklahoma, Ohio and Georgia.

Check out Kaurina's on their website for more information.
