  5. When my son was born, I transferred several shares of Disney, Coca-Cola and Pfizer into his name. All of them offer dividend re investments, and we were able to add to them over the years without commissions.

  7. We didn't really save much in the early years, but I went back to work when the youngest was in junior high, so that helped.

  8. I saved for my first two children, but my third child came 9 years after the first two, and we didn't have any money to save when she came along. I would love to save for her as well and feel it's very important.
