Personalization ~ Wearing It On Your Sleeve

Personalization: Wearing It On Your Sleeve

There are a great deal of clothing trends that come in and out of the limelight on a regular basis; most people who are interested in fashion tend to recognize this. One trend that is showing a lot of promise for 2013 is personalization. Personalized clothing items are becoming more and more popular as the days go on, and are beginning to be found not only in America, but in other parts of the world also. Wearing your heart on your sleeve may not seem as if it's for you, but taking a risk in such an area might not be a bad idea if you find yourself getting sick of the same old look.

Consider the following ways in which you can personalize your wardrobe, each of which is worth a try.

New Year's Resolutions

Links to this post
Do you make a New Year's resolution every year and then slack off a couple of months later? I know I do...I have great intentions to make the upcoming year better than ever, to make major self improvements, or to make some positive changes in my life. The problem is that after awhile it either becomes too much work or I simply forget the excitement that I felt while making plans for the New Year.

This year I've decided to not only make a New Year's Resolution, but to keep it realistic for me. I know that although I could vow to become Wonder Woman next year or eat healthy 7 days a week, but most likely I won't follow through with such high standards. A more realistic resolution for me would be to begin eating healthy by cutting out the junk food in my household. Little by little, I will buy less and less of the unhealthy snacks that my family just loves. I need to wean myself and them into liking and craving something better for us.

Another reasonable resolution for me is to be positive. I have a natural ability to look at a situation and automatically think the worst. From now on, I will try to see the positive aspects in everything instead of the negative. Key word..."try".

One way for me to keep myself focused on my resolutions is to write them down. I don't normally keep a journal, but maybe starting a journal and periodically writing and and reviewing may help me to keep up the positive thoughts and actions. I will also need to make sure my new journal is kept somewhere that I will see it on a daily basis, not hidden in a drawer or closet. Out of sight, out of mind!

I guess my point to all of this is that sometimes we set expectations for ourselves that are super high not likely attainable on a regular basis. I just need to set standards that are right for me and not what someone else is doing. Enjoy your life and be happy!

Happy New Year!

When I was offered the opportunity to review a Custom Body Pillow, I didn't quite know what to expect, but I thought it would be an awesome gift for my daughter. The process began by submitting a picture or in my case, a few pictures for the digital transfer. Shortly afterwards, I was sent a proof via email to view the images. It was awesome! I didn't think I could get anymore excited about this pillow, but the actual product arrived today and I have to say the pillow is truly amazing! I absolutely love it and I know my daughter will too! I can't wait until Christmas morning when she opens this wonderful gift.

JuJu Band Review!

Links to this post
The Juju Band is something I wish I would have had or known about years ago, when I had my first baby. She was very fussy, to say the least and as a new Mommy, I didn't really know what to do. I tried every remedy for gas or colic that I cold get my hands on, and nothing really worked. Needless to say, it was a rough time for me and my baby.

Baby belly binding has been used in many forms by many different cultures throughout the years. The ancient art of binding has been made easy and super cute by the Juju Band. The bands are extremely simple and made to accommodate even the busiest parents.

The Juju Band actually serves two purposes for babies...the first is to shied the newborn baby's naval from contact with diapers and clothing. This helps to reduce the likelihood of irritation and infection. Secondly, the belly binder helps to relieve colic and soothes fussy babies. The snug fit calms and comforts even the most finicky of infants!

Juju Bands come in a variety of prints and colors and can be purchased on the Juju Band website. Also visit Juju Band on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube!

Rockboard Mini Scooter Review!

Links to this post

The Rockboard Mini Scooter is truly amazing! My oldest son has the Rockboard Original Scooter, and absolutely loves it, and now my youngest son, Tristan feels like he is just like his big brother with his own scooter.

The Rockboard Mini is a smaller-kid version of the original scooter and incorporates revolutionary propulsion technology, allowing the scooter to be ridden for hours without ever putting a foot on the ground. This is done completely without kicking, batteries or gasoline! I'm not sure that I could last hours on a scooter, with or without gasoline, but I'm quite sure both of my sons loves these scooters enough, that a few hours are nothing for them!

Magnetic Play and Go ~Schylling Toys

Links to this post

I received the Magnetic Play and Go from Schylling Toys, for review, and I must say that this is an awesome learning tool for my sons. Dominic is seven and Tristan is three, and although, Dominic has already begun learning his letters and numbers, a little practice never hurt anyone! Tristan is excited about the Magnetic Play and Go because he thinks he is "BIG" like his brother, and now he is learning his alphabet and numbers too.

The Magnetic Play and Go includes thirty-six magnetic tin buttons encased in a tin carrying case with a plastic handle. I love that this toy is made from tin, because with my boys, if it's not durable, it doesn't last too long! I expect this product to last way beyond the years that my children will use it.

To purchase the Magnetic Play and Go for your little one, visit Schylling Toys on their website, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube!

Cosmo is one of the new additions to the Schylling Toy family. This retro-style robot is super cute and styled just like all of those classic tin toys, that you may remember from years gone by! Cosmo stands about ten inches tall and his movement is by the classic metal wind-up key attached to his tin body. The wheels in his base roll him forward, and makes for loads of entertainment for any toddler, ages three and up.

My son, Tristan is three years old and absolutely loves robots and anything with movement. This robot is perfect for his entertainment and sturdy enough to withstand his fun.

LEGO Time Teacher Review!

Links to this post
My son, Dominic, is seven years old and is learning to tell time pretty well, but he could always use a little help, especially help from such a fun product!

The LEGO Time Teacher is an excellent educational resource for children like Dominic. The fun and easy to use toy includes all of the tools needed to make learning how to tell time more like a game than learning. I'm not sure about all children, but I do know that if Dominic is presented with something "fun" rather than something comparable to his school work, he is much more interested and can really stay focused.
