Review & Giveaway: Nickels; A Tale of Dissociation
This product review is for a book titled, NICKELS; A Tale of Dissociation, by Christine Stark. This is a book that I am very happy to have
been chosen to read and review.
NICKELS is about a young girl, beginning at the age of 5 who
is going through sexual, mental, and emotional abuse by her father. Her mother
is aware of some abuse, but chooses to ignore it and be “the happy
family.” Over the years, the constant
abuse affects her more and more, and she develops multiple personalities. She
disassociates herself with her life when times are tough and becomes someone
else, someone very different than herself.
“Little Miss So and So”, as she refers to herself, goes
through foster homes, losing friends, humiliation, and confusion. All of these
things consume her until she meets a special someone, the only person in her
entire life that has ever come close to understanding and helping her to cope.
I definitely do not want to give away the entire story line,
but I can honestly say that NICKELS is a must read!

Mixbooks Birth Announcement Review
I was recently selected to receive and review customized birth announcements from Mixbooks. Although I do not personally need birth announcements, the timing was perfect because my sister-in-law just gave birth to the newest addition to our family, Derin Landon.
The selection and order process was so easy, quick and simple! We chose a "jungle theme" with a little monkey on the announcement and added the baby's name and date of birth. Although not shown here, there is also an option to customize the back of the card with information such as weight, length, etc...You can upload pictures from your computer, Facebook, Flickr, and Yahoo! Photo to use for your photo projects. The possibilities are endless!
Another wonderful thing that I really liked about Mixbook is that once you place the order, you have 2 hours to make any changes before it is closed for editing. This is awesome if you want to get another opinion or if you change your mind about the theme. Mixbooks also offers many other products such as photo books, photo calendars, invitations, stationary, and the option for a digital scrapbook. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for any personalized, reasonably priced, high quality product.

Birthday Chronicles Review!
Recently, I was given the opportunity to review a product called The Birthday Chronicles from BecauseITriedIt.com.
I chose to use my son, Dominic's birthday, simply because his birthday was coming up next and although he may be a little young to read the product, it's certainly something that he would think was really cool, and would be a fantastic keepsake for him.
